I heard about Translating Cuba a while back on a PBS podcast, but forgot to look into it. I recently came across it and have added it to my Google reader. I try to at least skim through the posts every day because some of them are quite powerful.
This post is by a father, concerned about what the children of Cuba are being taught and what's in their textbooks:
"“which, as a sign of revolutionary benevolence, they have not made us pay for”"
This post got me thinking about a recent controversy regarding our own textbooks being changed. Were you paying attention to that? I was. The thought of our history being any more watered down and screwed around with makes me nauseous. Except we'll be paying for our children's textbooks.
Awesome.
