Awesomesauce

Took the boys shopping for shoes yesterday. Somehow, I was convinced I needed these socks. There are actually like 4 pair with different colored stripes. :) I'm pretty much in love with them.

Hello, kitty

This little cutie followed The Teenager and I home last night after a long walk. Damned if the silly little thing wasn't STILL outside when we went to leave the house around noon today. It ran into the garage when I came back from the grocery store and dropping The Teenager to his friend's house which distracted me (duh) from the fact that I had milk and bread in the trunk.
Fast forward about 7:30 hours...... I went to make some Jiffy Mix chocolate muffins, and when I grabbed what was left of the milk in the fridge I remembered the milk on the trunk.
Supersighface.
I like cats. And this one's determination to become part of the family is impressive, but we can't have pets. So it can't come in. And it now owes me $4 for that milk.

Please, mom?

Well. Here we go. My teenager is asking to go to a "rave". We've been through a lot in the past year. A lot of things have changed. He's changed, his little brother has changed, his dad has changed. Some of the changes are direct results of what happened almost a year ago. Some of them are quite indirect. Most of them are good.
It's time to start letting the reins out. Slowly. It seems to be easier foe me to do than his dad. That's very strange to me. It seems I would be the one clinging to he image of my little baby boy, clutching at what he used to be.
But I don't.
He's turning into the most amazing young man. He's taller than me, he's artistic, he's got quite a sense of humor, and I'm just so happy to see him every day, I've stopped holding onto who he used to be.
I embrace who he's become and who he has the potential to be.

At the carwash

I forgot to mention in my rushed nutshell-recap that my husband and I bought a new car in April. It's quite beautiful, and the nicest car we've ever owned. It's a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, and it's such a dark, pearly blue that it looks black. Squeeee!
I'm really trying to keep it clean and sexy, so today I took it for a bath after class.
