Oooohhhhh… Aaaaahhhhh In Search of Awesome
That up there is my post about the 4th of July.
The boys left today for their grandparents' house. Shorty had a meltdown at 3 a.m. He's afraid to be away from us for a week. I told him that part of growing up is doing things that are hard. He wants to go, he's just nervous. I wrote him a note to take with him and made him a video on his iPod so he can hear me say "I love you" whenever he wants.
I blame myself for his trepidation. I should have stood my ground more when they were little about letting them do the things other kids do. My kids have only just started being allowed to stay the night with friends or to go places with them. They're 14 and 10. That's ridiculous.
Oh well. You live and learn right?
Write some more. I am laughing so hard.
ReplyDeleteYou do live and learn...yep...the problem is by the time you learn enough to live...life is over.
