F*ck Cancer

It's finals week. But I'm thinking about my step-mom. I found out on Saturday she has been diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma. She meets with her doctor this coming Friday to plan what's next. All we know right now is there is a 1 cm lump.
My step mom is one of the good guys. She's a wonderful nurse, and would have been a great mom. She's been married to my father for less than ten years, and I'm always shocked when she doesn't kill him. She's the first woman to call him out on his shenanigans. And to stand up my for brothers and I.
She's a keeper. She's strong. I'm hoping she can beat this.

      She is doing exceptionally well. She had a double mastectomy, and was home the very next day. She's healing well, and says her sick time is feeling much more like a vacation than recovery time. She's strong and amazing.
      I know I need to be writing, and updating, but since starting at MSU, I'm swamped with homework, work, and trying to keep up with training and kids. Thinking about combining this blog with my fitness one so maybe I'll be less intimidated by the need to update. ;) I will let you know.
